Artz de Scrap Clear Mini-album "Party Girls"

For May, Artz de Scrap asked its DTs to come up with clear mini-albums using the acetates given to us. The acetates were shaped in brackets so I decided to accentuate the shape with layers of red, brown and white StazOn ink all around. Aside from the photos, pps and flowers, I used a lot of rub-ons.

I decided to use the PS-SE Madhatter's Costume Party for the album. This is so apt since I used the Confetti "Party Girls" Clear Tag as a title. I managed to cut the tag into the bracket shape to conform to the side of the album.

I also cut 2 pieces of the album shape of the Hambly Screen Print. I wanted to have a cover to the album without using any of the acetate in order to protect the photos and pages inside.
Materials: Artz de Scrap Kit: misc. acetate sheets in bracket design, Cratepaper Blue Collection Sky, DejaViews Teal, Bohemia "Love of My Life" 12" Acrylic Borders, Hambly Screen Print "Squiggle," Confetti "Party Girls" Clear Tag, Fashion Angels Bracelet beads; mm Sky brads,mm Springtime brads, DCWV matchmakers mini-brads, Creative Imaginations Allison Connors metal flower brads, Carolina's various ribbons, Hot Off the Press Chocolate Flowers, StazOn (olive green, red, brown, white). Stamp used: Stampin' Up's En Francais. Techniques used: stamping, inking edges of acetate in several layers of colors, masking using flower on acetate, layering, beading, cutting acrylic borders and tags into shape.

My very own "Toy Kingdom"

On my way to Toy Kingdom, I couldn't resist visiting my favorite store in SM Mega Mall. Carolina's is a sewing notions store, but when inside, I get lost in a world of vintage laces and cloth flowers and glass beads. I literally drool over the many laces I see there. Of course, even if I only intend to buy 1 yard of a particular lace, I end up spending so much more, especially when I see the colors that evoke the old world blood in me. Today, here's the stash I bought:

Aren't they lovely?!!! I now have more than 1 drawerful of ribbons and laces, I don't know where I can keep any of them, and yet I just got more! Carolina's is virtually my own "Toy Kingdom!" If Galo goes to Toy Kingdom, hubby goes to Cyberzone, I go to Carolina's! I can spend hours there just oggling and choosing and buying stuff there!

Actually, I am thinking of reclaiming the 4th set of 4 drawer box cabinetry I had made from hubby's worktable, so I can organize the overflowing mess I have! I am literally messing up our bedroom! I really wish I had my own scrapbooking room. Still, I wouldn't want to miss the daily routine I have, seeing hubby at his table surfing the net and being pestered, cajoled and hugged by my little boy playing. Hmmm. Definitely don't want to miss those.

My Scrap Attack ( and I'm stuck)

After a month of frenetic scrapping and coming up with 8 LOs and 1 altered project (and 1 unfinished mini-wedding album), I seemed to have gotten tired or uninspired. My last project was finished last weekend, and for the life of me, I can't seem to work on the Studio Azul Challenge, nor make another Webster's Page entry, nor finish the mini-wedding album. It's like I'm just waiting for the month to end. And end it will today.

I'm posting my Love Elsie Zoe Collection LO on my Scrapbook Plan entry for Visual Creations here.Although this isn't my typical style, I did have fun painting on the white background of the Zoe paper, but that took a while to do. I wanted to experiment with simple and visually-arresting LOs. I was happy with it at first, but now, I'm not too sure.

Mia, a scrapping friend, pointed out that my style is vintage. When she said that, I actually said "yes" inside, agreeing with her wholeheartedly. I suppose, I am an old soul, looking for a creative outlet in things that look, appear or feel old. No wonder.

My Christmas Gift: TravelPack Plus!

It has arrived! I've been waiting for this for a month now, and my TravelPack Plus has arrived!
When I ordered it a month ago,I just
wanted a bag organizer for scrapping. I figured since I've been joining EBs, I have to be ready to pack things quickly and also return things easily. Now that I've seen it, I'm SOLD! It has organizer pockets for pens, scissors etc. in the inside. It also contains a spinder (a 3-hole metal holder that has a velcro back) that can be attached and detached easily. The 3-hole spinder holds plastic that can contain PPs and also embellishments in an organized manner. Also, it can accept 2 more spinders should I need it. What's more, I can (if I chose to, have the money and the table space) also opt to use the spinders with their ScrapRack Organizers. Haaaay! I'm in love!

Candy's Scrapping Treasures

Marj made a contest wherein everyone shows everything they've got. She'll randomly select winners for this contest to win a RAK she displaced in her blog.

In the beginning, I was hesitant to show all of my materials. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to spread out all of my things since this will show my compulsive buying habits. However, the exercise was actually good since it made me see what I really have, and also take stock of what I shouldn't have gotten. I saw the many things I've forgotten about, and I realized that I actually have favorite things I use often.

I've accumulated many papers since I've started scrapping. By going through each one (making sure to fan it in such a way that I'll still be able to return them all in their proper places), I realized that there were quite a number of papers I have that I will probably not use. It makes me think of setting aside these papers to give away for the Christmas Exchange Gift.

Since I've joined different scrapping fora, I've managed to triple or maybe quadruple my stash in barely 4 months! In the last few months, my goal was to increase my collection of rub-ons. Now, I'm into collecting clear stamps and metal embellishments. Next month, who knows? I'm actually looking forward to the Christmas Party, partly because there will be things to buy again. It seems never to end!--- Woe to me for being a scrap junkie.

Family Heritage

I finished another lay-out. I'm quite amazed at how fast I can make one now for as long as I'm on vacation. Trust that next week will be different when school begins on Monday.

This one is entitled Family Heritage. I really like this one. It's about combining my love for genealogy and for scrapping. I like how it turned out. For this page, I did paper toile to add dimension to the page.
